What is PUWER?

Suitable for its intended use
Maintained in a safe condition
Inspected where necessary to ensure ongoing safety
Used only by people who have received adequate information and training
Fitted with appropriate safety measures

Guidance is issued by the Health and Safety Executive, but legal responsibility remains with the employer or duty holder.
